Admission
Requirements :
Admission to different under graduate degree like civil ,
Mechanical, Electrical, instrumentation and Electronics, Information
Technology, Computer Science and Engineering and B.Arch. Is made
though a "Joint Entrance Examination" conducted each year
by BPUT at different centers in the state and also outside the state
and admission into MCA course is done through the MCA-JEE which is
conducted separately BPUT.
The
intake strength of various department as approved by AICTE for the
session2005-06 and degree awarded as following.

RESERVATION
OF SEATS
Some
seats in Engineering, Architecture and MCA are reserved for S.C.,
S.T., Diploma holder in Engineering, Children of Green Card Holders,
Woman candidates of the State and Physically handicapped candidates

TRANSFER
OF STUDENTS
Non
inter college transfer shall be allowed. However, under extra
ordinary condition, the University may transfer students from one
affiliated college to another in the same Programme at any time
during the continuation of the programme, without assigning any
reason for the same.
CHANGE
OF BATCH
For
students pursuing first degree Engineering/ Technology Programme a
student may be allowed to ; change of branch in the college after
completion of course requirements for the 1st and 2nd
Semesters of the first year programme, subject to availability of
seats in a programme. The selection shall be made on the basis
of merit, assessed through a combined results of the first and
second semester examinations declared in the form of Cumulative
Grade Point Average (CGPA) at the end of first year. The change of
branch shall be accorded to only such students securing a CGPA os
8.5 or more and who have cleared all examinations of both the
semesters in first attempt in examination held during academic
session of his/her first admission to the course. Change of branch
may be accorded subject to the condition that the consequent total
student strength in the loser programme shall not deplete by more
that 10% of the actual student strength in the loser programme.
ATTENDANCE
A
student shall be eligible to appear in an examination provided
he/she attends minimum 75% of theory practical and sessional classes
scheduled during the semester. The attendance shall be considered
from the date of admission of the candidate in the college. The
students are required to sign in the attendance register against
their name in each class they attend. Below 75% attendance sheet
will be published in every semester in the college website in a

EXAMINATION
i)
Class test
There
will be three periodical class tests of 10 percentage point each for
all theory papers on the dates specified by the University /
College. A candidate shall clear a theory paper if he/ she secures
minimum 12 percentage point out of total 30 in three class tests and
minimum 25 percentage point out of 70 in end term Examination to be
conducted by the University.
ii)
Practical test
Each
partial paper has 100 percentage point. In each practical class,
there will be a test of 10 percentage point. A candidates shall
clear a practical paper if he/she scores minimum 50 percentage
point.
A
Compensatory practical class for a student who misses an experiment
only on medical ground can be arranged within two weeks of his/her
missing a practical class, subject to the approval of However, there
is no compensatory class test for theory papers.
iii)
End term Examination
The
University will conduct end term Examination of 70 percentage point
as per the academic calendar for eligible candidates.
iv)
Supplementary Examination
There
will be a supplementary examination once in a year during the month
of June, to be conducted by the University. The students having
grade F in theory paper of previous examination are eligible to
appear subject to due registration. There will be no supplementary
examination for practical / sessional papers.
REGISTRATION
All
student should register for the courses in the beginning of each
semester. They will be allowed to appear the examination for those
registered courses only. They should consult their advisors before
registration for proper guidance.
TRAINING
Student
go to more than 50 oraganisations all over the country for practical
training. 30 days training after 6th Semester is compulsory. Another
30 days training after 4th Semester is optional. The
college also organizes in-house summer training on various advanced
subjects during this period, like JAVA, .NET, ASP .NET, SQL-200 and
many more , For overall development of the student, the college
organised personality development programmes for the students.
MERIT
SCHOLARSHIP
CET
merit scholarship of value Rs.400/- per month will be awarded to 20%
of the students of each class. The scholarship for 1st
year B.Tech / B.Arch/MCA shall be awarded to the students basing on
their JEE rank in general category. For 2nd year and
onwards the scholarship shall be given branch wise basing on their
CGPA in the previous year Examination. The minimum eligibility for
the awarded of the scholarship is 7.0 CGPA and the students must
have cleared all subjects registered so far in the first attempt and
should have the required attendance at any point of time during the
current course without any involvement in discipline activities.
