CET :
The College has always been dedicated to study and scholarships of the
highest standard. The college offers an eight semester B-Tech degree
in Civil Engg., Electrical Engg., Instrumentation and Electronics
Engg., Mechanical Engg., Computer Science & Engg., and
Information Technology, a six semester course in Bachelor's Degree
in Architecture. Conduct of regular seminars, symposia, workshops,
ISTE sponsored programmes always motivate the student to achieve the
best. Apart from it the college helps in developing communication
skill and personality of an individual. Moreover, student
participate in different projects run by the faculty and gain much
technical exposure. The college prepares students for degrees in the
following fields of specialization & Duration.

Course
Credit Systems
Course credit system of teaching and
continuous evaluation through internal assessment with 10 point grading
is followed for the undergraduates and post-graduates in common with
other sister colleges of the University, each academic year is divided
into two semesters. Duration of each semester is of 85 Net Instruction
Days (NIDs). The course
curricula of B.Arch and B.Tech degree courses have been framed in
accordance with the guidelines of the Council of Architecture and the
AICTE respectively. The syllabus for P.G. in Computer Application is as
per the recommendation of Department of Electronics, Government of
India.Besides the course curricula, there is provision for practical
training, seminar and project work. Part of the new campus is already
ready in which laboratory and workshop classes is continuing.
Semester Regulations Some of the
important Semester Regulations are given in the
following paragraphs for the information of students. For further
details "Regulation for Under-graduate and Post-graduate, Diploma
course" may be referred to. All the students are expected to know the
requirements for the award of degree/diploma they have registered for
including the general academic requirements and assume full
responsibility for meeting them. They are expected to be constantly
in touch with the Advisor so that the latter may watch their
progress and guide them along right lines. In no case a regulation
will be waived or examination made simple because a student pleads
ignorance of it.
Identity Card An Identity Card
bearing the name, admission number and photograph of the student
duly signed by the registrar, shall be issued to each enrolled
student. The students are expected to carry their identity card
with them and produce the same when required. In case the
identity card of a student is lost, a new one shall be issued to him/her
on payment of fees as prescribed.
Student's
Advisement (a) The newly admitted and the continuing students
shall present themselves before the Deans of the respective
colleges in the beginning of each semester on date(s) as prescribed
in the prospectus, semester calendar or notified separately,
for orientation and advise. The Dean shall assign the students in
groups to different staff advisers. (b) The advisors shall help
the students assigned to him in planning the programme of study and
in choice of courses. He shall maintain close contact with the
students and keep himself/herself informed of their progress in study by
having periodical meeting with them. One period per week may be
allotted for such meetings, the adviser shall bring to notice of
the concerned Deans, the problems of the students that require
special measures.
Registration of Fresh
Candidates Registration of fresh students is
done on the date of admission as fixed by the Chairman, Admission
sub-committee of Joint Entrance Examination, Orissa.
Registration of continuing students (a) Registration of
continuing students for any subsequent semester shall be done as
per the procedure laid down under regulation-9 on date(s) as
provided in the semester calendar or specially notified by the
Registrar/Dean of the Faculty. (b)
Late registration : A
continuing student who does not register on the scheduled date of
registration, shall be required to pay late registration fee at the
rate of Rs.10/- per day. (c) Last date of registration : Late
registration, as per the item (b) above, shall not be permitted
after 7 working days from the scheduled date of registration for any
semester.
Provided that the Vice-Chancellor may, in very special
cases, permit late registration within the next 7 days on payment of a
fine of Rs.130/- in addition to late registration fee as per item (b)
above. Thereafter, in no case shall registration be
permitted.
A continuing student who can not register on the
prescribed date due to illness or other unavoidable circumstances
for which sufficient proof is to be given to the satisfaction of
the Dean, may obtain provisional registration by paying the
required fees by post or messenger on or before the prescribed
date of registration without fine. Such a student shall have to
complete other aspects of registration within 1 week from the date
of registration, failing which his/her provisional registration
shall be cancelled and all fees paid by him/her shall be
forfeited.
Registration necessary for award of
Grade In case a student studies a course without registering for
it in the prescribed manner and this is detected later he/she shall
not be awarded any Grade in that course and shall be summarily
dropped from the University.
Temporary
Withdrawal (a) Every student shall be required to register at the
beginning of each semester till completion of his/her requirements
otherwise permitted by the Dean concerned, failing which his/her
enrolment shall be cancelled. Re-admission in such cases shall be
at the discretion of the Dean and not as a matter of
right. (b) A student may be allowed temporary withdrawal from the
University for one or two semesters, on the following
grounds. (i) Prolonged illness of a student in which case the
application for withdrawal is to be supported by a Medical
Certificate. (ii) A student met an accident whereby he/she has been
disabled for attending his/her classes. (iii) Death of parent
and any other reason considered valid by the Dean for the said
purpose. (c) Temporary withdrawal for a particular semester shall
be granted only if the application is made to the Dean through the
Advisor at least 15 days before the commencement of the Examination
of that semester. (d) Temporary withdrawal shall not ordinarily
be granted for more than one academic year.
Re-admission
after Temporary Withdrawal (a)
A student who is allowed
temporary withdrawal for one or two semesters shall be allowed
re-admission subject to the condition that he/she takes the courses
prevailing at the time of re-admission.
(b) A student who took
C.L.C and/or Migration Certificate may be re-admitted without any
fine and his/her status quo ante shall be maintained, if he/she
surrenders the original C.L.C and/or Migration Certificate within
2 days from the date of issue of such Certificate (s). If such a
student surrenders the said Certificate (s) after 2 days, he/she may
be re-admitted at the discretion of Vice-Chancellor
on recommendation of the Dean on payment of additional fees as
may be prescribed by the Academic Council.
Leaving the
University (a) No student shall be deemed to have left the
University unless he/she has obtained clearance/no-due Certificates
from all concern.
(b) Unless a student submits clearance/no-due
certificates mentioned under Clause-1, no refund of the amount due
to him/her from the University shall be allowed, nor shall the
transcript/mark sheet, provisional certificates, conduct
certificates, transfer certificates etc. be issued to him/her (c)
A student has to obtain the clearance/no-due certificate
himself and he/she may do so immediately after completion of
his/her
studies.
EXAMINATION
Subject-wise Registration &
Eligibility to appear examination
a). All registered students of the college have to
register for each of the subjects they are required to study before the
commencement of a semester.
Except in the 1 st semester where a student is automatically registered
for the term, a student has to apply to the university in a specified
format for subject wise registration for the term, with the prescribed
fees of the college.
b). A student being promoted with backlog (XP) has to register 1
st for the backlog subjects being offered in the semester. The upper
limit of the no. of subjects is 2 more than the prescribed no. of
subjects in that semester.
c). Minimum Attendance
- A student has to at
least have an attendance of 75% in classes to appear for the
examinations in each of the sessional, practical & theoretical
classes scheduled during the semester. A student who has been
absent on health grounds or due to participation in
cultural/sports/academic/official assignments in the interest of the
college/university/government with prior written permission of the head
of the college shall be permitted a maximum of additional concession of
10%.No student shall be allowed to sit for the examinations with less
than 65% of the attendance.

a). At the end of each semester, there shall be an examination
conducted by the university as per the program announced at the
beginning of each academic year.
b). There shall be a supplementary examination every yr between
15 th of June to 5 th of July. Students who have failed in subjects
registered in even & odd semesters can avail this opportunity to
clear them.
Declaration of Results and Promotion
a). In order to pass a program a candidate must secure at least
pass grade in each of the theory/practical/project/seminar/sessional
& viva voice items.

Grading System
A seven point grading system on base of 10 shall be followed as
per the BPUT rules
